1st Training Series Complete

3rd Weekend Trainees: D. Serjeant, G. Flutey and J. McNickle
The first centralised training for Fire Police/Operational Support in 30 years has just been completed in a series of weekend courses for recruits at the National Training Centre in Rotorua. Our Brigade had 3 recruits on each of the 3 weekends and provided 3 trainers for the intensive courses, attended by Operations Support personnel from throughout the country and modelled on the pilot courses that our brigade assisted with in Auckland. All those attending marvelled at the facilities at the new training centre, and got to use some of the life-like scenarios, for instance traffic management was organised on the Centre
