Members Attend Fatal Road Crash

The driver of this car was killed when it slammed into a traffic light pole in Milford.
This morning the Brigade assisted at one of the biggest intersections on the North Shore in the aftermath of a motor accident which claimed the life of the driver. The crossroads, where Shakespeare Road meets Kitchener Road in Milford, are usually one of the busiest, but it was quiet at 3am when the crash occurred, the car slamming into a pole carrying traffic lights. Members helped close the intersection, effecting traffic diversions while police investigated the accident and, later, fire-fighters extricated the victim. The roads were opened at 6.30am, just before the morning commuters
