The brigade was braced for an eventful night after forecasters warned of a storm that would bring heavy rain and strong gales. Those who responded to the first call braved the conditions at a motor vehicle accident in Massey, involving two cars. They took responsibility for road closures while the serious crash unit worked at the scene. Part way through the incident members were called to a fire at a Mt Albert business - where members assisted traffic travelling past appliances and undertook general fireground duties.
