It's been a busy weekend for members, Host Brigade to the annual United Fire Brigades' Conference at the Pullman Hotel. We assisted Conference organisers with transportation and support functions over 4 days.
But it was the Friday night "Welcome to Auckland" function which was our biggest contribution with an on-stage presentation showing the diversity of our members which reflects the many ethnicities we serve in our communities across Greater Auckland. Our presentation, enhanced by performances by Tahitian dancers and the hip-hop group "Fresh", was very well received, later highly praised by UFBA and Fire and Emergency executives. They said the message we portrayed shows the way towards their mission for diversity and change within the overhaul of present fire and emergency services to communities nationwide.
On Saturday night our Brigade held its Annual Honours ceremony in conjunction with the Conference Dinner.
