Third Alarm at Pullman Hotel
30 August 2017
Lower Princes St was closed during the fire, blocked by fire appliances
Last night's fire on the 10th floor of the five-star Pullman Hotel in Auckland's Central Business was confined to one room, centred in an air-conditioning or electrical duct. The 340 room hotel on Waterloo Quadrant was smoke-logged on several floors: firefighters found the seat of the fire and then extinguished it. Meantime, guests were partially evacuated from the 14 storey building, prevented from returning until the hotel was declared safe. Members assisted in traffic and crowd control, carried out Command Unit duties and attended in the mobile Canteen.
