"The busiest year since we began recording statistics in 1999". That's how Chief Fire Officer, Glenn Teal, described the Brigade's activities in his annual report, delivered at tonight's Annual General Meeting. 767 calls, all to working jobs, were recorded for year ending 30th June 2017, a 4 per cent increase on last year. "Attending these calls and the administration of the Brigade involves lots of activity and commitment," Glenn says, "and it has to be a team effort to sustain the workload".
Other highlights in annual reports delivered tonight:
+ Members put in more than 3,500 hours during the year training
+The 12 months were free of any injury accidents to our members while on duty
+ Annual SMS targets were not only met, but exceeded
+ Response times, by far, met minimum turnout times for volunteer brigades.
