Sunday was Busy! (Part Two)
30 January 2017
Linemen would be working through the night to replace damaged poles and restore the lines.

Members no sooner stood down from the Penrose Road accident they went on to respond to power lines down on West Coast Road, Glen Eden where a car had smashed into one pole bringing it, and high-voltage wires, down on to the road and damaging two other adjacent poles. Vector staff investigated replacing at least two of the poles, one of the more costly projects, they said, in recent times. The car, only slightly damaged compared to crunched power pole it hit, decamped the scene but was found nearby a short time later. Members closed busy West Coast Road, a major arterial route until long-term traffic management was put in place by contractors. For the crew on OS3 this was the third call on the trot, a hat-trick.
