Members closed roads in Hobsonville last night after an Air Force fire appliance rolled on a roundabout on Brighams Creek Road. No one was seriously injured in the crash but the RNZAF vehicle was extensively damaged. It had been responding from Whenuapai Base to help firefighters from West Harbour Station at a blaze in Scott Road. Our members closed Brighams Creek Road affecting access to the Upper Harbour motorway until investigations into the accident were complete and while the lengthy job of salvaging the vehicle, weighing some 20 tonnes, was underway.
