There were delays to motorists tonight when Green Lane West was closed to West-bound traffic following a crash near the gates to Cornwall Park. Several cars collided, one ended on its roof, blocking some lanes. Green Lane was exceptionally busy tonight with bargain-seekers swarming to the ASB Showgrounds for the first night of what's billed as a "Massive Weekend Sellout" of white-ware, electrical and household goods. The crowds contributed to the traffic snarl when diversions were put in place for an hour while the injured were treated and the vehicles removed. Members assisted with traffic management and scene protection.
