Serious House Fire in Mt Albert
15 December 2014
Smoke from the blazing unit could be seen from many parts of Auckland
The fire took out the Unit and 2 cars parked alongside

Smoke from this afternoon's house fire in Mt Albert was seen from many parts of Greater Auckland.
The two-storeyed unit in the densely-housed McGehan Close was destroyed in the fire, along with two cars adjacent to the building. At first it was thought there was still someone inside the place but firefighters quickly found that all the occupants had escaped. They then concentrated on putting out the persistent fire which was stopped from spreading to the neighbouring unit by the solid separating wall. Members cordoned off the cul-de-sac to all traffic to give access to emergency services: a second alarm was transmitted. Members also provided crowd control, refreshments and waterway assistance.
