Several occupants were rescued in today's house fire at Mt Wellington - but a man, a woman and an infant are hospitalised with severe burns. The morning blaze, in a two storeyed unit in Malone Road, ripped through the residence catching several people inside. Some were dropped from the first floor to neighbours' waiting arms while others were rescued and taken out on to the lawn. An infant was resuscitated by firefighters before being taken to hospital. Members closed the road during the second alarm emergency and provided other support services.
