This morning's major blaze at Henderson

Firefighters attack the northern end of the building

One of the biggest fires in West Auckland in years has overnight destroyed one of the largest buildings at Auckland Film Studios' Henderson complex. The blaze ripped through the 3 storey-high corrugated iron structure which at one end contained a gym where flying stunts and sequences were arranged while the other end was a workshop where film props and scenery were made and stored.
Firefighters responded with a 4th alarm using multiple deliveries , including several aerial attacks, to get the better of the fire. Members carried out traffic control, scene protection, fireground duties and provided meals from the mobile canteen.
