A member of our brigade's soon to be seen as part of the New Zealand Fire Service's nation-wide recruitment drive. The promotion, "Step Forward, become a volunteer firefighter" will feature in the Press at Anzac weekend, followed by other media. The series features a number of volunteer firefighters showing them both in their career occupations and their fire service roles. F.F. Unga Koloamatangi was chosen to take part, videotaped at Auckland International Airport in his Air New Zealand pilot's uniform and again at Balmoral fire station wearing his Operational Support turnout gear. The campaign material has the catch-line "Being part of a community is like being part of a large family. Will you be there when someone in yours calls for help?"
