Fire swept through the large warehouse/showroom of CC interiors overnight, destroying the complex. A 4th Alarm was transmitted when it was plain the building, in Hannigan Drive, St Johns, was quickly being engulfed, threatening premises on either side. Flames lit up the inside of the warehouse and showrooms and, fed on interior furnishings, lighting and fabrics, soon broke out on all sides with parts of the building collapsing. Water had to be piped into the light industrial estate to provide sufficient supplies for fire-fighting. Members closed surrounding roads, provided canteen services, assisted at Incident Command and maintained cordons, among other duties.
