Smoke Alarm Pays Off

Occupants of this Mt Roskill house were alerted by a smoke alarm

Members responded this morning to support fire-fighters from Western suburb stations, assisting at a 2nd Alarm house fire in Mt Roskill . A smoke alarm in the basement, seat of the fire, alerted the sleeping occupants upstairs who made good their escape. Fire-fighters later rescued the couple's dog. And just as this call was winding down members were responding to Waitakere, requested for traffic management while a serious oil spillage at Taupaki was made safe.
