Members assisted at 2 serious motor crashes in the past 24 hours: both involved extrication from the wreckage and both involved out-of-control vehicles. The first, in Mulgan Street, New Windsor, in the early hours of yesterday occurred when the driver of a car lost control, mounted the footpath, took out a tree before ramming a pole which snapped at the base, bringing down power lines. Fire-fighters undertook extrication while police searched the neighbourhood for other occupants. Last night's crash was in busy Rosebank Road at evening peak traffic time. A car left the road, crossed the carriageway, taking out a fence before somehow spinning round and becoming lodged on top of a brick fence. Several people were extricated and taken to hospital. At both incidents members provided scene protection, maintained road blocks and traffic management.
