Fire-fighters are tackling a blaze in hills above Karekare village on Auckland's West Coast. A helicopter with monsoon bucket is assisting fighting the fire which has a wide front and, fanned by a breeze, is sweeping up bush-clad hills. Members are on site assisting with traffic control and are working from the canteen to provide refreshments.
