Members responded to a fatal motor accident this morning in Waimauku between a train and a vehicle. It occurred on an unsignaled railway level crossing on Joyce Adams Place near where it connects with State Highway 16. The northbound empty log train collected the vehicle, shunting it off the road and into a ditch beside the Highway. SH16 was closed for several hours while emergency services stabilised the situation, recovered the driver's body and while police completed their investigations. And just as this incident was being cleared, other members went to a persons reported, K99, house fire in Favona.
