A dairy in Remuera Road had an unexpected intruder this afternoon when a car crashed through the shop's front window. The driver lost control of her vehicle at the Bassett Road intersection, crossed lanes, mounted the footpath and smashed into the premises. The car then glanced along the shop-front, missing the butcher's, coming to rest against a traffic light standard outside the corner liquor shop. The out-of-control car also damaged a power plinth on the footpath. The driver was taken to hospital: members managed busy Saturday afternoon traffic in the vicinity while the car was recovered and the scene made safe.
