Usually busy Mt Albert Road is deserted, awaiting investigations to begin.

Members were called to a persons trapped motor vehicle accident mid-afternoon on Mt Albert Road, Epsom, which is one of Auckland's busiest West-East arterial routes. Traffic was at first managed down to one lane in either direction, allowed past the incident - but when it became a serious crash incident the busy road was closed. Members staffed two major intersections on Mt Albert Road to effect the closure, at Hillsborough Road and at Pah Road. There was also a block put in at Buckley Road so that all evidence was preserved pending investigation. As these measures were being put in place there was a second call to a house fire at Albany on the North Shore. A small team left in OS1 to attend. They too were involved in traffic management, as well as fireground duties. The third call occurred when, just as the vehicles were being salvaged at the Mt Albert Road accident, a woman pulled up at the scene explaining she was in need of medical attention, experiencing a severe asthma attack with allergy complications. An ambulance was called and she was taken to hospital.
