Tornado aftermath in Devonport: debris hanging in power lines

Described by residents as a short, sharp mini-tornado, sudden strong winds in Devonport early this evening left a trail of destruction in a few streets centred on Vauxhall Road. Houses lost roofing iron and tiles, debris was widespread, power lines snapped and a tree was uprooted. Members assisted with traffic and crowd control while other emergency workers made the suburb safe.
