Series of Exercises Begins
31 May 2013
Members take out 2 lanes in busy Nelson Street during the first exercise.

Members will be helping Auckland fire-fighters at exercises in downtown Auckland over the next 6 weeks. The Fire Service has access to an unoccupied medium-rise building, the former Rainbow Hotel, at the corner of Nelson and Wellesley Streets and will stage a greater alarm exercise on Thursday mornings. The Unit's also treating this as a training opportunity, particularly for recent recruits: traffic management on busy multi-lane city streets, Command Unit and other tasks.
