One of our members, Joel McNickle, today graduated as Fire-Fighter at the Fire Service's National Training Centre in Rotorua. He was one of 23 members ending their 12 week course with a graduation ceremony which included a demonstration of the skills attained during their training. Fire Service Commission Chairman, Rt Hon Wyatt Creech, told the group they are part of an organisation that the public expects will deliver an all-hazard service while National Commander and Chief Executive, Paul Baxter, says the 23 have, by graduating, joined the very best career in the world. Joel starts shifts at Otahuhu Station in a week or two.
