News Story
The Brigade's had one of its busiest weekends in recent times with attendance at 7 events up 'til noon Sunday. Late Friday afternoon there was a call to a motor vehicle accident in Henderson, followed by a long-duration job in Herne Bay where a motor vehicle accident turned into a crime scene. Saturday afternoon there were calls to a gas leak in Torbay and a scrub fire in Mangere. This was followed, mid-evening by a major third-alarm turnout to 3 houses on fire in Westmere. This, too, turned into a crime scene and members returned on Sunday morning to close West End Road again to enable police to gather evidence. Just after crews stood down from Westmere in the early hours of today there were two further responses, one to a motor accident, car vs car, in Mt Roskill and, at the same time, a car vs pole in Mangere. So far this weekend members have contributed a total of more than 100 hrs.
