Long-Duration Bush Fire at Tapora

The fire at Tapora was burning along a half km front
Members are assisting at a long-duration scrub fire at Tapora in the Kaipara District. The Brigade's mobile canteen responded in the early hours and has been busy re-hydrating crews and providing meals. The Ablution Trailer has been requested and this is going North this morning. Supplies to replenish the canteen will also be sent to the scene. The fire is being attacked by more than 60 fire-fighters, heavy machinery's creating fire breaks and helicopters are using monsoon buckets. Crews are also protecting several houses close to the blaze.
