It's changeover day: our first team which took FP6, 7 and 8 to Christchurch and have been assisting at the hub of Fire Service operations, are being relieved. SOs England and Galloway, FPCs Hohaia, Mason and Williams will be replaced by FPCs Chisnall, McVeigh and Potter. "These 3 will staff the facilities we have there, further contributing to the massive search and recovery operation still underway," says Fire Police Chief, Glenn Teal. "Further rotations will be considered later, if required". 3 more members of our Unit are working as part of diverse operations in Christchurch: Fiona Knight is with the Salvation Army's welfare team, Dion Rosario went south as part of the St John Ambulance effort and Jackie Watson has been seconded to the NZFS emergency centre headquarters.
