This morning's crash in Neilson Street, Te Papapa
Members were engaged for more than 6 hours at a fatal motor vehicle accident this morning in Neilson Street, Te Papapa. A car collided with a power pole just after 2am bringing down high-tension lines which became wrapped around the vehicle. Rescuers could not approach the car until the electricity had been cut off. Once linemen isolated power to the area ambulancemen could move in, followed by firefighters who cut the body from the wreckage. Members remained on the scene, closing Neilson Street while these activities, and police investigations into the accident, were carried out.
